I was informed by Ck1, resident Japanese expert, that thing ‘sleeping bag’ is called a kotatsu. Central heating is a foreign concept in Japan. The first rule to being in a kotatsu is to never fall asleep in one or else you will wake up as a burnt piece of toast, like Kogepan. Oh, those Japanese, what will they think of next.
