Even Cops are Looting
These people are complete jackasses. I understand your house was flooded, but does that really give you the right to steal shoes and a big-screen?
Even a couple of cops join in the fun, filling up an entire shopping cart at a ransacked Wal-Mart (halfway through the story at about the 1:01 timecode).

1) Where are they taking these TVs? The city is underwater.
2) What are they going to plug them into?
3) Thay are jackasses. If you’re going to loot something, why Wal-Mart? Get thee to a Nordstrom!

This is insanity. Exactly what Marc said, where are they going to plug this stuff in and keep it dry? I saw footage of people running away while piles of clothing, electronics, etc.
Stealing food and water, ok, maybe. That’s a basic necessity that the disaster relief people cannot provide right now. Doesn’t make it right but i could see anyone, regardless of class/education, being pushed to feed their family.
TVs, VCRs, etc.. that’s not a basic necessity of the situtaion. Carjacking? Definately not.. where the hell are you going to drive to in the city?
