Battle of the Opposites
Nov. 28, 2005 by Jason
I’ve always wanted to hold a “battle of the opposites” tournament involving common household products.
Round one: a window unit air conditioner against a space heater.
I’d set both up, turn them on full blast and leave the room. I’d come back an hour later and see if the room is hot or cold.
Round two: sleeping pills vs wakey wakey pills.
I’d take a Unisom and a Vivarin and see whether I felt tired or alert.
Round three: humidifier vs dehumidifier.
Get these appliances running and let ‘em battle it out. Would the room be humid or dry?
Round three: cheese against prunes.
I’d eat a huge plate of cheese and prunes. Would I get blocked up, or would I get the Hershey squirts?
Am I missing any other potential battles?

Round 1: Unit air conditioner.
Round 2: Wakey wakey pills.
Round 3: Tie. Hershey squirt nuggets. Actually, that sounds pretty gross.
JJ: Hope you made it to the PI safely!

Jackie:
After reading your comment I realized that people are running that experiment every day - with Vodka Red Bulls.
But I know you meant something even more potent than that. And, yes. Yes I have.

My My. A more potent version of this? I had a friend die from a more potent version of this years quite a few years ago. What DID they call that? Oh yes, speedball. Don’t you dare JJ!
