Spammers Beware

MacBros came up with a new way to combat comment spam. He changes the comment to say what he thinks it should say. Here's one of the altered comments:

bentyl tablet

Hi I’m a low life Spammer. I suck balls and need a good cock punch for trying to spamm MacBros’ Blog with my feeble attempt of sneeking a link to my website to generate traffic because I’m to fucken cheap to pay for aadvertising.

This is the link I tried to place http://bentyl-tablet.boxmom.info/ballsucker.html

I used to respond to the spam comments with insults, but MacBros' method is fucking genius.

  1. I read you post about the spammers without links. I wonder if this is a new spreadable spam, like liverwurst. I have a theory about those gnats. I get that crap too. My feeling is that they’re doing what those (illegal) companies that phone people with automated dialers do. There’s nobody there, but since you picked up the phone, they know that you’re real and they add you to their list of who to send real live marketers to. Or, they might be trying to get you to accept their comments so that they will be considered “OK” to comment, like we do all the time with first time posters. But, then again, that doesn’t explain the anonymous ones. Araggghhh!

Heh. I’m not spamming you, but I did leave a link. :o

  2. LOL Leave it to Mac!

  3. I’m actually anticipating comment spamm now. I wanna change them around. Tee hee hee!

  4. I hate to toot my own horn, but since I’m having a bad day (can’t you tell), so this scheme is a little bit similar I did to this guy (he pissed me off leaving “anonymous” comment with profanities

    Am I a spammer now?

Maybe someone should start a blog (ring) where all those original comments VS “modified” comments were listed, along with their IP addresses…

  5. How about putting them all in a line and shoot them instead? That’s would be even better :pp

I saw on the news that you guys in Philly are going wi-fi in the end of 2006 btw…that should be a boost for spammers too :p
