people will do stuff for money. i mean anything. like…work

i really don't like the concept.

the way i feel, if you call it work it is not something you enjoy.

but anyways...

i paid a taxi cab driver to introduce me at a party once. and i felt like he enjoyed it. and he got paid. thus not work.

jmo had a friend who was having a party. i was bored and decided to go. solo style. i got a cab to capital hill.

the cabby was etheopian and did not speak english very well. probably just a little better than i do. but i asked him a favor. i offered him five dollars extra over the five dollar (normal, for me, tip) tip to knock on the front door of the house and say, "ladies and gentlemen, introducing........jim!!!".

at first i think people were confused. but then i walked up from the porch into the house and gave a "parade wave". after that i think everyone understood what was going on. even though i only knew like three people at the party, people laughed.

there is no moral to my stupid story. but it is fun to be introduced at a party.

  1. Fantastic idea. That would be a great thing to do on your first day at a new job.

  2. I used to call going to the head shop every day work but I loved it.

  3. I’d tip the cabbie extra to drive thro’ the front door, calmly dust himself off, and then say ‘HEEERRRE’S !!’

  4. Shit! I forgot about that. That was hilarious!! Only you… Jimmy. Who else would ever think of paying a cabbie to do such a thing? Brilliant!
