My Dog Wears Shoes
Feb. 14, 2006 by Jason
Even if you don’t read this post, click the clip at the end. It’s fucking hilarious.
JD Dog hates the snow, so this has been a rough couple of days for him. The streets are covered:

And this little priss can’t handle it:

I mean, he’s pretty sensitive to begin with, and when it gets cold he just wants to crawl under a blanket. Getting him to go outside for a piss can be a challenge. He loves to wear his sweaters, so that’s not a problem. But when there’s ice and salt all over the sidewalks, he really needs to wear his snow boots. They’re like little socks with rubber bottoms.
We usually strap on his boots in the apartment before bringing the little guy downstairs, and he just hates it. He acts like he can’t even walk when he’s wearing them. He looks like a bumbling fool. Check out this clip of JD Dog trying to walk while wearing boots:

Quicktime doesn’t seem to like the video… so if you’re having trouble right-click and “save link as” then open it from your desktop.

That is too funny. This was Rocky’s first snow so he didn’t know what was going on, just that when he got ahead of me and jumped off the steps of the deck…the little guy disappeared.
He was pissed!

ROFLAO!
Poor dog doesn’t know what to do.
February 14th, 2006
bwah ha ha ha. do the other dogs laugh at him?
February 14th, 2006
That is great. I’m going out today to score some of those booties for my dog. There is no snow here, but damn how can I pass that up?
February 14th, 2006
Jesus, That’s so funny. I can’t stop laughing. I seriously can’t breathe.
JJ, you’re a sadistic bastard.
February 14th, 2006
LMAO Poor puppy!
February 14th, 2006
Im dying from laughter. It hasnt snowed here so i havent had to buy my greyhound Digit booties yet….but now i cant wait.
February 14th, 2006
And OH! Is that a whippet?
February 14th, 2006
Doggie handstands!
Sign that puppy up for the next summer Olympics in gymnastics.

How fucking cute!!!! I wanna get my dog some booties now. We let her play in the snow for the first time Sunday and at first she was prancing like a show horse, then she started hopping like a bunny. It was very entertaining.
February 14th, 2006
That’s too awesome for words.
February 14th, 2006
LOL! The next trick is to cover his feet in foil. My cat hates that.
February 14th, 2006
Scary.
February 14th, 2006
Awwwwwww . . . poor little JD!!! It makes me sad that we’re all laughing at him and all, but OMG that is so damned funny!!! Poor baby. Kiss him for me.

Ron:
Funny! I have a feeling that won’t happen to JD Boy. His legs are so long! He looks like a midget giraffe with a short neck.
MacBros:
I know - he’s so confused!
Sarah:
Probably, but I’m not sure what a doggie laugh sounds like. But yesterday, a homeless guy was watching me walk him. He kept yelling, “Your dog’s limping! He’s limping! Look, that dog’s limping!”
Barnd:
It would be a completely worthwhile purchase just for the humor value.
Ev:
True, I am kind of a dick.
Diane:
He’s an Italian greyhound. Very similar, jut a tiny bit smaller.
JuicyA:
Post pictures when you get ‘em! Digit rocks.
Poobah:
Fantastic idea. He’s not confused - he’s just training for the Olympics!
April:
A dog that looks like a midget giraffe and one that hops like a bunny. They’d make a great pair.
C Ro:
I had a feeling you’d get a kick out of that.
Eddie:
Oooooh, I’ve done that before. Cats HATE that!
Maine:
Don’t be scared.
Martha:
I don’t mind laughing at him… He LOVES the attention.

I’m thinking Devo:
When the snow starts to fall down
(That poor Whippet)
Puts on his big boots like a clown
(That poor Whippet)
Then shuffles around town
(That poor Whippet)
Now Whippet….

That’s hilarious. Kevin and I have a video of him with those booties on. I’ll have to send it to you.
February 14th, 2006
Oh my god… That is one of the funniest movements I’ve ever seen a dog do. I hope his self esteem isn’t damaged from having to go out like that.
February 14th, 2006
Awww …. that’s so funny. I have a whippet and she hates the cold. Maybe I should get her some boots and a sweater.
February 14th, 2006
OMG that is too cute. It’s like his front and back are two separate entities the way they move so out of sync. Poor thing. But so dang funny!
February 14th, 2006
JJ, that’s awesome! It made my day.
February 15th, 2006
Joethe:
Now I’ve got that song stuck in my head.
Julie:
Awesome.
Mojotek:
I don’t think he’s got any self esteem issues. The little guy still prances around like a pretty princess.
Turboslut:
You should!
Thao:
True. He needs to get his front and back working together. “This is a team effort here, legs!”
Sar:
Awesome!

Hey JJ! I work on/with The Snood Factory, which makes a wide variety of doggie clothing. The polar fleece raincoat/rainsuit would be nice for her, and the snoods are great for keeping dog’s heads warm. Anyways, thought you might want to take a look.
Great pic of the whippet btw! I used to have one, they’re real characters
February 15th, 2006
Ha! The English Guy called JD, “her.” He IS a pretty princess.
February 15th, 2006
JD is my soulmate, my bumblin’ soulmate. Sorry p3.
February 16th, 2006
Ooppps! I meant “he”, no disrespect to the cute little guy. Having owned two of them (my first dog was a whippet) I know they CAN whine like little girls…
February 16th, 2006
JD is definitely a prissy dog. Can’t you tell just by the way he’s sitting on those red sheets! Ahh, he’s so cute….
February 18th, 2006
Wow. That is one hell of a dog. Kinda looks like a catwalk. A dog doing a catwalk. Think I should shut up now.
February 22nd, 2006
English Guy:
Cool. I’ll check it out. And don’t worry about calling JD a “she.” He gets that all the time.
C.Ro:
The prettiest!
J.Mo:
JD’s been in love with you for years.
Ranting:
At least it’s not a cat doing a dogwalk. Wait… shit. That doesn’t make sense either.

Sensational video. JD looks like he’s dancing.
I came perilously close to being called Gay Bernice Penfold, but my mum decided at the last minute that it sounded like a racing whippet. Instead I’m named after the Russian (german) queen who supposedly shagged horses. Thanks mum.

Catherine:

I always thought you were named after Penfold from DangerMouse.
June 8th, 2006
Yes, I am. Thats the proud family name, Penfold. Sadly, I am a little dishevelled and I wear glasses.
