I wrote it. Here’s the thing: Fantasy football is fun. It’s a silly game based on a real life game played by men in tight pants. It’s as justifiable as trading baseball cards or playing D&D. And I am a fan. An NFL fan and a FF fan. I simply have the self-awareness to understand it’s a goofy waste of time that makes watching football more interesting than it already is.

On the other side of the argument, FF encourages fans to put players ahead of the team. Individual accomplishments are more important than the W/L column. You get a stud on your roster who happens to be playing against your hometown team that week, and it might take a little bit of the sting away when your team loses.

It’s silly. It’s childish. It’s fun. And it’s for dorky NFL fanboys like you and your dorky friends.
