High School Kids Have Great Taste in Music

For some reason, I still think the music I loved when I was a high school senior is the best music of all time. Am I the only one who has this odd distorted view of music history? I mean, record companies have probably released some amazing albums since 1994, but I can’t help thinking they’re just copying my early 90’s indie rock heroes. Here’s a list of my top five favorites from that era:
- Sebadoh - Sebadoh III
- Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
- The Mountain Goats - Beautiful Rat Sunset
- The Flaming Lips - Transmissions from the Satellite Heart
- Mercury Rev - Yerself is Steam

i have the exact same feelings. except i was a senior in 98, but i still love the early and mid 90s music.
someone–maybe you–said that everyone thinks the best music was from around the time they first had sex (generally high school).
holds pretty true for most people i think.

That’s a great point. Though, the first time I had sex, I was really into Danzig and Minor Threat and Black Flag. I think the stuff I dug soon after that stuck with me longer.

I guess I never really thought of that. Although I think the stuff I was listening to my freshman year of college is the stuff that is still my favorite.
