Nice list.
I’d add:
Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
The Mountain Goats - We Shall All be Healed
Billy Bragg - Back to Basics (Or Life’s a Riot with Spy vs. Spy)
Super Chinchilla Rescue Mission / The Tim Version - Go Halves on a Bastard
Once again, in all seriousness (funny aside),
Can you send me that Super Chinchilla stuff (or mp3 it for everyone).
I don’t have it. really. really real.
ps - slanted and enchanted broke way more boundaries. i drove to freaking georgia to see that tour.
add Big Star’s “#1 Record” album to that list.
Jimmy:
I don’t have it. But you can order it from Amazon Canada for $25. Ugh.
I agree that S&E broke new ground. But I still think CRCR is the better record from start to finish. I definitely listen to CRCR a lot more often than I do S&E. I’ve said it before…. Fillmore Jive is the greatest song of all time.
Add “The Codes” as-yet-unrecorded first release to that list.
“The Codes” -French Pronunciation
Millions of people have, but I’m glad I didn’t.
